Cornhill Farm

Welcome to Cornhill Farm! Currently on our 120 acre farm we keep around 70 cattle, grow 40 acres of cereal and also eight acres of winter vegetables and potatoes, which are sold through the small farm shop and supplied to local businesses. In addition to this we keep a small number of pedigree Welsh and Saddleback pigs. Throughout the year there are numerous litters born, any surplus stock is available to purchase and is suitable for breeding or rearing for tasty pork, (Please see the for sale section for current stock availability).

Please note: The farm is not open to the public, prospective customers are welcome to view the pigs by appointment.

The  Pigs

On the farm we have small numbers of Pedigree Welsh and Pedigree Saddleback Pigs.  The Welsh breed is an ideal butchers pig and produces: • Good lean meat• High killing out percent• Good eye muscle• Good length of loin• Well developed hams• Sufficient back fat to retain traditional pork flavour• Grades well, even at heavier weights.

When crossed with the saddleback we have found that the pigs are equally as good, producing great quality pork.
